Miles of Single Track
There are more than 20 miles of mountain biking trails on Big Mountain from beginner to expert skill levels. The Glacier Chaser lift and gondola will take you to the summit of Big Mountain where you can ride the Summit Trail, eight miles of single-track, down to the Big Mountain Village. Take the more challenging Dave's Dive or ride your bike from the village via the Tenderfoot trail and enter the enchanted forest. From there, ride through a labyrinth of single track through the woods, around Jumping Rainbow Pond and out into the glades of Gopher and Wolverine Trails.
A skills park, complete with a table top, giant berms and a step-down will add new excitement and dimension to your mountain biking experience.
Beyond the miles of trails on Big Mountain, logging roads and other trails on the mountain and into town make Big Mountain and Whitefish one of the country's finest mountain destinations.

Situated in the interior of British Columbia, Sun Peaks Resort offers a mecca of trails in its lift access mountain bike park.
The resort is familiar with hosting world class mountain bike events, such as the Tim Hortons Mountain Bike National Championships (two time host) and more freeride oriented events such as Joyride. Sun Peaks Resort is at the dawn of their sixth season of summer bike park operations and has experienced significant growth in the number of mountain bike visits and the size of Bike Park events. “We are thrilled to work in conjunction with Mondial du Vélo and have the opportunity to hold the UCI Mountain Bike Masters World Championships on the West Coast for the first time,” states Francis Arogouin, Marketing and Sales Director at Sun Peaks Resort. “It is going to be extremely exciting to see some of the world’s best riders tackle our long and technical race courses.”

Shine up your bike and put air in your tires; Fernie’s mountain bike season is nearly here and there’s nothing better than fresh mud splatters on your ride to ring in the summer season. The season kicks off on Canada Day (July 1, 2005) and lift operations will continue daily from 10am - 5pm until September 5, 2005. Devinci Cycles is again working as a key partner through out the summer operations, helping with the expansion of trails and supplying their high quality freeride bikes for rental. Thursdays will see extended lift hours from 10am-7pm for the Kelsey’s race series. This season, Fernie has expanded its operations with both the Elk and Timber chairs running on weekends. That means over 2200 vertical feet and over 36 trails to ride and explore!
The resort is investing more money than ever before into the summer trail system, inviting renowned trail builder Ryan Schultz to return to Fernie again this year. Schultz will be busy building new trails similar to the high-speed trails like Top Gun and the stunt studded Aggravated Assault, and will tweak existing trails to his high standards. With extensive machine work and handwork, Fernie’s expanded trail system will be ready for riders opening day, July 1. Events like the Canada Cup Downhill and Cross Country Races, Kelsey’s Thursday night race series, and Week of Wheels, will be held at Fernie again this year so check out the event calendar today. |

Bikes are back at Apex for the summer of 2005. We are opening the Quickdraw high speed quad chair for all types of mountain biking and hiking. The lift will open on weekends and public holidays from July 1st to September 3rd. Apex has 2000 vertical feet of riding on a huge variety of terrain. We have easy fire roads, mellow trails and knarly technical steeps.
This season will feature 7 downhill/ free ride runs, 30 km of lift accessed cross country riding and over 150 km of cross country in the area.
The cross country riding at Apex offers cool breezes, huge vistas and magnificent forests. Ride through history as you view mine relics and stage coach inns from the days of old.

After 9 successful years in the Valley, the famous Action Quest Mountain Bike Event is relocating to Apex. Now known as the real mountain challenge, the same crew that bough you Action Quest will be delivering the Real Mountain Challenge. Featuring a super long and gnarly DH, and BC's highest altitude XC course, this event will be a test. |

Their five dedicated staff members are busy planning the new trails and sculpting bike park features to make sure there is something for all levels of riders.
The Comet Six Pack Express is Canada's largest mountain bike lift, taking bikers to 1,600 vertical feet of great riding terrain. The high-speed detachable lift will be fitted with roll-on bike carriers and will have a ride-time to the top of just under eight minutes. Grab your bike from the ever-so -friendly lift attendant, strap on your armour, and get ready for action.

Whether you’re looking for a relaxing ride in a gorgeous setting, or the adrenaline rush that only a high-altitude adventure can provide, Brundage Mountain’s lift-served mountain biking has it all. Summer operations run from July 1 through Labor Day. Lifts operate from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Friday to Sunday, with special holiday service on Monday July 4th and September 5th.
Our high-speed chairlift whisks you to the 7,640 foot summit, and the rest is up to you and gravity. With more than 20 miles of hand-built single-track trials, there’s a route to fit every experience level. Beginners can work out the kinks on the scenic Elk Trail, which gently winds its way down through scenic forests and meadows. Extreme thrill-seekers can test their mettle on Zorro, a technical route that takes full advantage of gravity’s pull.
