U.S. to host 2010 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup finals 14 days ago The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup is set to return to the U.S. next year for the first time since 2005 as Windham Mountain Resort in New York has been chosen to host the series finale August 28-29, 2010. After successfully hosting a 2008 national calendar event, Windham Mountain resort hosts a UCI Category 1 event his year as the sixth stop on the 2009 USA Cycling Pro Cross Country and Gravity Mountain Bike Tours.
UCI mountain bike inscription forms due June 22 30 days ago The UCI 2010 mountain bike inscription period is now open with a deadline of July 3, 2009. All inscriptions are submitted to the UCI through national federations, therefore the completed forms need to be submitted to USA Cycling by Monday, June 22, 2009. The 2010 USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Calendar (MBNC) application period has also been bumped up to an earlier date this year to coincide with the UCI inscription period.
Taberlay and Pendrel win Pro XCT #3 Bump and Grind 32 days ago Sid Taberlay outsprinted Jeremy Horban-Kobelski to take the victory at the third event on the USA Cycling Pro Cross Country Tour presented by Sho-air (Pro XCT) by a two seconds. In the women's event, Catherine Pendrel out dueled her Luna Chix teammate, Georgia Gould to win the Bump and Grind Pro XCT women's event near Birmingham, Ala. Max Plaxton and Gould lead the standings after three events. The next race on the Pro XCT will be the CTS Sand Creek International Classic in Colorado Springs, Colo. on June 13.

Development mountain bikers fare well in Europe 52 days ago The USA Cycling National Development Mountain Bike Team grabbed both first and second place at the Wittnauer mountain bike race in Germany on May 10. U.S. team member Tad Elliott earned a victory in the local mountain bike race, while his teammate Robbie Squire grabbed second. Six additional U23 cross country athletes also raced alongside the development team members, experiencing European mountain bike racing for the first time as a part of the first of three USA Cycling European Mountain Bike Development Race Camps scheduled for this summer.
McClendon and Burch win National Gravity Calendar races at Yee-Ha! 53 days ago Sean McClendon made the trip across the country to win the USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Gravity Calendar's third event, the Massanutten Yee-Ha! in Virginia. McClendon only finished less than a second ahead of 16-year old Neko Mulally in the downhill event. Allegra Burch came out on top of the pro women's race at Massanutten Resort. The fourth of eight events on the USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Gravity Calendar will be the Chile Challenge in Angel Fire, N.M., May 23-25.
